About Dr. Beth Atlas

My goal is to help you maximize your health by providing a caring, holistic and personalized approach to health care and nutrition. I provide integrative treatment plans which combine expert advice on nutrition, food choices, nutritional supplements and lifestyle modifications which enable you to optimize your health.

I have always been passionate about helping people be healthy. After graduating cum laude from the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Psychology in 1988, I earned a Doctorate in Chiropractic in 1991 from the National College of Chiropractic, graduating as class valedictorian. In addition, I have been adjunct faculty at the University of Bridgeport College of Health Sciences for more than 20 years, teaching subjects including Physical Diagnosis, Physiological Therapeutics and Technique Procedures. In addition to being a licensed and board-certified Chiropractor, I am also a Certified Nutrition Specialist®. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition and I am a certified health coach.

I provide compassionate health care with a functional medicine approach which focuses on treating the underlying cause of symptoms. Functional medicine is an approach to health care that incorporates a comprehensive analysis of each individual’s biochemical and genetic systems and how they interact with their diet, physical activity, environment, internal and external stressors, and other aspects of their lifestyle. I help people understand how their bodies work so they can naturally restore proper physiology and biochemistry and optimize their health. I provide customized, one-on-one support and counseling, food plans, recipes and lifestyle guidance to help keep you on track. My specialties include nutritional guidance for general health and for chronic conditions such as: digestive disorders, being overweight, metabolic diseases (such as diabetes and heart disease), skin conditions (such as acne, eczema and dermatitis), allergies, chronic fatigue, headaches, autoimmune disease, osteopenia/osteoporosis, ADD/ADHD, and anxiety. I have given many lectures and presentations throughout my community on nutritional approaches to combat chronic disease.

I am the mother of 3 children, and I have always loved to cook. I’ve been collecting and refining recipes for as long as I can remember. I have an extensive collection of healthy recipes that can appeal to adults and children. I understand the difficulty of finding the time to cook healthy meals and appealing to children’s likes and dislikes. My one-on-one personalized approach allows me to individualize a plan that is most suitable for you and helps you achieve and maintain better health.  In addition, I provide traditional chiropractic care and rehabilitative exercises for back pain, neck pain and other musculoskeletal conditions.
